Plasma systems: Plasma pretreatment of profiles made of plastic, aluminium or EPDM

Plasma for cleaning and activating support materials

In the pretreatment of profiles made of materials such as plastic, aluminium or EPDM OpenairĀ® plasma technology is in widespread use. This plasma process has become very well established in the automotive industry. Plasma pretreatment is used during extrusion to prepare plastics and elastomers for subsequent coating, flock coating, application of tapes or two-component extrusion. The plasma serves to clean and activate the support material. Due to the selectively focused plasma beam it is possible to treat even complex profiles without difficulty.
