The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research IFAM – Bonding Technology and Surfaces – is Europe's largest independent research institute in the field of industrial bonding technology. Regarding plasma technology, the Fraunhofer IFAM is engaged in research and development projects for the pretreatment of materials which are imparted with additional properties through this type of treatment so that they qualify for further fields of application.

Application

The consistent development work between Plasmatreat and Fraunhofer IFAM that started as early as in the middle of the 90ies and that is based on mutual confidence, is backed by a strategic partnership. Long-term F&E projects striving for safeguarding future markets are jointly initiated. The joint development of patents is another key task. Thanks to the existing close collaboration, this reputed research institute meanwhile also carries out specific process developments for customers of Plasmatreat.

Benefits

The collaboration of the development partners offers Openair® plasma users the following values:

  • Innovative development projects
  • Well-founded, mature research results
  • Patented technologies
  • custom-made process developments
