neon lamp
Most popular plasma application.
neutron
Chemically uncharged particle that was detected by Chadwick in 1932 (symbol: n; mass = 1.67·10-27 kg).
nonstick-coating
A nonstick-coating prevents fluids from sticking to surfaces. Such coatings have a very low surface tension, so that substances simply drip off. There are kinds of nonstick-coatings that obtain this effect because of their surface's structure (micro structuring - lotuseffect), and such with an especially nonpolar surface. Plasma-coating is a way to change the wettability, for synthetics in particular; nonstick-coating always brings about an enlargement of the contact angle between fluid and surface.
nucleon
Collective name for the nucleus components proton and neutron. These are decomposable in fusion plasmas only.
