ultraviolet
In some plasmas, an intense UV radiation can be generated that can take an immediate effect on the material (UV deterioration).
UV radiation
Ultraviolet radiation, designation for electromagnetic radiation with a frequency higher than that of visible light. The wavelength of UV radiation lies within the region of 4 – 400 nm. Beside visible light, excited particles in plasma also emit UV radiation, which sometimes contributes strongly to the activating and cleaning effect of plasma, especially in the treatment of organic material.
