Wet labeling on plastic bottles is unthinkable without Openair® Plasma. Plastic surface tension is so low that it makes wetting with water-based adhesives impossible. The adhesive can’t achieve any bond on these non-polar bottles. That’s the reason why plastic containers are often labeled using expensive self-stick labels, or hot melt or dispersion adhesives are used.

Wet labeling on plastic bottles

Openair® Plasma makes labeling as easy on plastic as on glass bottles. Plasma surface technology significantly improves wettability of the surface to be labeled. Especially where high-speed labeling is involved, the simple inline integration of plasma jets can result in huge savings.
