Plasmatreat at K 2007
Optimistic expectations greatly surpassed
The world’s largest plastics and rubber exhibition, K 2007, this year welcomed 3,130 exhibiting companies from all over the world. Between 24 and 31 October around 242,000 industrial visitors from over 100 countries came to Düsseldorf.
The stand shared by system partners Plasmatreat and Ceracon/Sunstar generated a huge response among visitors. From the first day of the exhibition there was not only a constant throng, but also a brilliant mood.

In order to ensure secure and durable adhesion of adhesive bonds and coats of paint on plastics good pretreatment and activation of surfaces is absolutely essential. The international team assembled on the stand around Managing Director Christian Buske and Southern Germany Sales Manager Joachim Schüßler presented the latest technical developments from Plasmatreat on this subject.
Openair® atmospheric-pressure plasma technology is an environmentally friendly, primer-free process that allows ultrafine cleaning and activation of surfaces in-line to the highest possible degree. In addition it is low-cost and highly efficient. Selective coating of the most varied materials while simultaneously giving them the most thorough cleaning is made possible by the new PlasmaPlus® technology.
The robot-controlled one-component foaming plant running on the stand in front of a large public audience impressively demonstrated the in-line application of Openair plasma for the pretreatment of plastic components prior to the application of expanded foam seals.

There was also particular interest in the new Plasmatreater AS400
laboratory installation developed by Plasmatreat. Visitors to the
exhibition had the opportunity to carry out tests on the spot and
evaluate the results obtained from their own samples. The installation
possesses an integrated traversal unit and is completely
computer-controlled with all data being reproducible. The treatment
rates later required in production can be precisely simulated with the
aid of this installation.
Managing Director Christian Buske together with his team enjoyed the intense discussions and summed up by saying, “The deals closed at the exhibition and the good post-exhibition business still to be concluded confirm the international technological leap forward that Plasmatreat has made.”
