Plasmatreat: “European Sales Meeting 2008”
in Venice

(bri) There is no question that down-to-earth work goes hand in hand with pleasant surroundings and lively conversation. In this way the success of a congress is usually ensured. The word “surroundings”, however, is a relative concept. Plasmatreat grasps this in a somewhat broader sense and holds its European Sales Meetings in annual rotation in the home country of one of its European sales managers. The plain reason for this is that apart from the work to be done, the declared objective of the company’s management is to promote intercultural communication between the participants and understanding of the culture and mentality of the host.

In one of the most interesting cities in the world Giovanni Zambon, Branch Head of Plasmatreat Italy and genuine Venetian, offered his guests in his home city in June this year an excellent congress program.

Plasmatreat Italia s.r.l., a subsidiary company of Plasmatreat Deutschland, is based in Venice’s VEGA science park. Apart from 200 other companies the well known address covering some 3,000 square metres also houses NanoFab, a network of laboratories which sees itself as an interactive switching centre between nanotechnology and industry. Openair® atmospheric-pressure plasma technology is an integral part of the NanoFab research work supported by EU funds. In the course of a guided tour the Openair® systems employed here were demonstrated to the Plasmatreat congress participants and their research purposes explained.

The key themes of the congress lasting several days in the VEGA Park included the latest innovations from the house of Plasmatreat:

  • Generators: The 5001 and 5002 generator series will appear this year with a striking new design. These generators boast additional features and can maintain a constant plasma output despite significant fluctuations in the incoming supply voltage.
  • Newly developed jets for robot technology: The RD2004 rotary jet has become a great deal lighter. Accordingly, it is even better for robots to operate and for accessing contours of the surface to be treated.
  • Restructuring of the entire product range

Sales Manager Giovanni Zambon ensured in perfect Italian style that his guests from seven European countries were given some food for the soul amid all the work. In their free time he familiarised them with the attractions of the city, its cuisine and unique music. During these few days he may well have aroused in many minds the thought that professional commitment and southern European zest for life are by no means mutually exclusive.
