Interplast 2008, Joinville – Successful exhibition appearance in Brazil

From 25 to 29 August this year Plasmatreat and its Brazilian representative Pluritec appeared for the first time jointly at the Brazilian exhibition Interplast which takes place every two years in Joinville in the federal state of Santa Catarina. Some of the largest plastics manufacturers in the southern hemisphere have established themselves in this region which makes the exhibition very attractive to exhibitors from home and abroad.

Since 2007 Plasmatreat has been represented in Brazil by Pluritec Ltda. The company under the leadership of its Managing Director, Luiz Ramos, specialises in the sale of machines and equipment for the electronics industry. By taking up Openair® plasma technology it was able to expand its product range in Brazil significantly.

“The Brazilian market needs innovative technologies like this one so that steadily rising demands for quality in industrial products can be met” declares Marcio Luz, Pluritec Key Account Manager for atmospheric-pressure plasma technology.

Assisted by Plasmatreat Vice President Tim Smith (Plasmatreat North America Inc. Toronto), the team used a XY rotary plasma installation to demonstrate to the exhibition public the mode of action of Openair® plasma treatment on different plastic surfaces. During the exhibition the non-chemical technique for ultrafine cleaning and high activation of plastics hitherto unknown to most visitors enticed about 500 of them from all segments of the plastics industry to the joint stand. Numerous manufacturers from, inter alia, the automotive, packaging, two-component injection moulding, furniture and electronics sectors immediately commissioned Pluritec to carry out test runs on their own products.
