Expansion in Asia – Plasmatreat now in Tokyo and Singapore

Asia's economy is growing and there is a large market for atmospheric plasma treatment for products manufactured in this region. Having had a presence in Asia for several years with subsidiaries in Osaka and Shanghai and representatives in Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia, Plasmatreat ushered in 2013 with the opening of two new branches in Tokyo and Singapore.

TOKYO: Nihon Plasmatreat Inc. has its headquarters in Nihonbashi, one of Tokyo’s most fashionable commercial districts. With the establishment of the new offices in Tokyo, activities can now be split between the eastern and western side of Japan, which will enable the company to contact and support customers far more quickly than before. The technical centre in Osaka will be retained, whilst Plasmatreat Tokyo will function primarily as head sales office.

SINGAPORE: The tiny Southeast Asian island city-state with a land area of just 700 km² is known as the “Gateway to Asia” on account of its strategic position. The south-eastern corner of the continent is one of the world's fastest growing economies. If you want to do business in the region and need a central location, you can't beat Singapore – a country well known for being business-friendly and having an excellent infrastructure and superb framework.

Plasmatreat Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is headquartered in the centre of Singapore at one of its most prestigious addresses; the German Centre Singapore, partner within the German Centers global network which unites the strengths of German business under one roof.

In the same way that Singapore acts as an international economic hub, Plasmatreat Asia Pacific – according to Managing Director Thomas Markert – sees its role as providing a cross-functional corporate hub: “My job is to work closely with local branches and distribution partners to strategically expand the Asian market for Plasmatreat, especially in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Korea and Japan.” There are also plans to establish a strong network between Asian Plasmatreat subsidiaries and to assist them with the sharing of information and exchange of expertise. Markets in Vietnam, the Philippines and Australia – countries where Plasmatreat currently has no presence – can also be accessed from Singapore. Proposals to construct a training and laboratory centre in the medium to long-term are also in the pipeline. “With its central location, Singapore is the ideal place from which to perform all these tasks. On top of that, there is also a skilled workforce here that we can draw on for our future employees,” Thomas Markert continued. His activities and those of his colleagues in other Asian countries will focus primarily on four major industries: the LED electronics industry, automotive manufacturers and suppliers, the furniture and composite panel industry and the solar sector.
