Second race, first victory, after fantastic teamwork

At the finish line, Anna Scheffler knew who to thank, namely her 4 helpers, Daniel Pechtel, Florian Sprenger, Patrick Lechner and Daniel Debertin. After the Mendelrace, Daniel Pechtl honored Florian Sprenger in particular for his outstanding work for the team.

The start took place at an altitude of 405 m in the village of St. Michael/Eppan. From here it was all uphill to the summit of the Mendel Pass at 1,363 meters. The figures for the race: length: 14.5km and altitude difference: 958m.

Right from the start, the butterfly express formed up for Anna Scheffler's mission to win. Team boss David Buske had already set this goal two days before the race and committed the team to it. Riders such as Patrick Lechner and Daniel Debertin put their own ambitions on the back burner and put themselves fully at the service of the team.

Anna Scheffler completed the route up to the Mendel Pass in a time of 50 minutes and 21 seconds. She was followed 22 seconds behind by Annika Artinger and a further 10 seconds behind by Carmen Moser in third place. Despite the helpers, Daniel Pechtl, Daniel Debertin, Patrick Lechner and Florian Sprenger finished the race in the top 40.The next race of the season will take place on April 20th at Lake Neusiedl. This race takes place over 2 days and starts with a time trial on Saturday. This race is a World Championship qualifying race.
